Justice, mercy, and grace. These are three of the biggest words in the Christian vocabulary. Though entire volumes have been written about each of these words, in their simplist form they can each be defined with one short sentence: "Justice is getting what we deserve; mercy is not getting the punishment we deserve; grace is getting good things we do not deserve."

Sooner or Later God will permit a situation where you have nothing but him and his promises/ It is at these times that you can run to the throne of grace.
